One point reality.

As I grow older it seems clear to me that we can only make a difference through one point reality. Every single person on this planet has that one point inside their mind where everything comes together. Talent, craft, natural behavior, social role and the ability to get paid for it. It’s all part of that one point.

To make a real difference in life is to let everything we do arise from this one point. If we don’t, then something will be missing from the equation, and it will give us trouble. Resistance will build up somehow and lead to unwanted detours in life from where we have to retrace our steps to get back on track.

I have had numerous detours in life because I didn’t realize this principle. Maybe it’s because I’m too stubborn or too curious? I always want to seek out new endeavors and new skills, and once I start I’m too stubborn to quit, even though I find out that it’s not my biggest talent or passion. I just keep grinding away, and as a result I’m always fighting against life instead of having it on my side.

When life gives us resistance it’s because it’s trying to deliver a message to us. There is something we have to learn about ourselves in order to find our one point reality. We can only understand that through resistance. It’s the only thing that makes us think in alternatives. The resistance of life is actually a beacon leading us to our one point reality.

Once we understand what our one point reality is we should simple stick to it and allow everything in our life to evolve around it. It’s like an eternal spring of inspiration and wisdom that we can draw freely on in order to move through life. The moment we leave it we dehydrate and have to find fixes for it. But if we stick to it we will find that it never leaves us no matter where we go. It moves through life with us.

It has taken me more than 30 years to understand this, but maybe that’s what age is for? To understand. By compiling our experience and reflective power we gain wisdom, and it naturally happens proportionally with our physical energy changing and our body deteriorating. We cannot comprehend the power and wisdom of one point reality until this happens. Simply because we don’t see it as long as our body is always chasing life, which is does as long as its energy is young. But when that energy changes from outward to inward, that’s when we get access to the deeper understanding of life.

One point reality arises from that understanding. That reversal of energy. Its magnitude is profound since it has no ending. It’s endless, and we automatically have access to endless ressources when we allow life to flow through the reality of one point. That one thing that is us.

Listen to resistance. Listen to life. Listen to the calling of the one point, and you will find your way home.

Making a difference is a choice

In all of my years in personal growth and entrepreneurship I have never met a person who didn’t want to make a difference. And why would I?

Once we start asking the fundamental questions and go beyond the daily routines of life, we all want to make a difference. Period.

The question is, I have found, if we allow ourselves to make that difference. We all say that we want to, but how many of us actually allow ourselves to make it?

Takes will power

Making a difference is a choice. It will not come to us by itself. We will have to pursue it as an active choice in life. Even if we have a natural gift that allows us to make a difference easier than most people, we still need to make it an active choice to use it.

It takes will power to want to figure out what kind of difference we want to make, and it takes some intense introspective work to find out excactly how. It doesn’t come by itself. We have to want it.

A light in the shadows

To find those answers we have to dig deep within and align them with who we really are at the very core of our being. Usually the answer is straight forward, but we don’t see it. Our own ideas of who we are shadows the truth. We need someone from the outside to cast light upon those shadows and let the simple truth of our inner being emerge.

To try to make a difference without that alignment will never work. Maybe for a while, but eventually life will lead us back to our natural main track through some kind of resistance. We have to be completely faithful to ourselves if we are to convert our actions to something that makes a difference.

The energy equation

If we are not, the very act of trying to make a difference will suck all energy out of us. We will feel that we sacrifice ourselves every day in order to make that difference, and that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Making a difference should give us more energy than we had to begin with. If it doesn’t we are on the wrong track.

The same is the case for a company. In the business world energy is money, and if making a difference sucks more money out of the company than it gives, then the company is making a difference the wrong way. Then it’s not aligned with its fundamental essence as a company.

The reason is very simple,

Making a difference is part of a growth paradigm; not a sacrifice paradigm.

We are not supposed to sacrifice ourselves and our well being in order to make a difference. We are not supposed to hinder growth because we choose to play a bigger part in life than just ourselves.

On the contrary, we are meant to grow even more as both people and companies by making a difference. The process is supposed to take us higher, not lower.

So, if you find yourself in the situation that your attempt to make a difference in life doesn’t take you higher, doesn’t lift you, doesn’t make you grow, doesn’t make more energy and money than you give out, then you are trying to make a difference that’s not aligned with your core being.

The only answer then is to rethink yourself and find a new way. Something you might not be able to do alone. Our inner light often have to be ignited by an external light shining in.

Belief is key, but it doesn’t grow of nothing.

As an entrepreneur my ability to believe is key. If I don’t believe in the project on a deepfelt personal level, I don’t sign up for it. Projects are not just about the business opportunity itself. It’s about using a business opportunity to change the world.

To do that believing is key. Life depends on it. When people say they don’t believe in anything, they are either lying or deflecting the unpleasant truth that going through life without believing is impossible.

We have to believe in order to take the next step in life. The question is not if we believe or not. The question is if we are convinced or not. If we are not convinced, we don’t believe. It’s that simple.

Convinced or not

The church has told us to believe first, and be convinced secondly, but spiritual practice was never about that — not even in the original church. It was about gaining experience and gradually mature to a level where we began to believe.

Even God had to convince Moses he existed before he could get him to lead the Jews out of Egypt. Even Jesus had to convince his followers that he was a true master before they started following him.

Believing to learn

When I sign up for a project as an entrepreneur I sign up to learn. To gain experience. I have an initial belief of how the project could change the world, but I’m not fully convinced yet. I have to put in the work — the daily practice — to gradually be more and more convinced about the difference it makes.

True spirituality works that way, entrepreneurship works that way, and life works that way. We have to believe in the deeper meaning of what we do. If we don’t, we dilute our souls to mindless energy bundles without purpose.

To make a difference in life is to believe in something and gradually see that it’s the right path to take. If it is, life will reward us. If it isn’t, life will lead us somewhere else. Life tends to be funny that way.
